What did the Lansdowne Club require?

The Lansdowne required a trusted contractor to complete various internal renovations and repairs to specific areas of the prestigious, private members club. The Shelbourne Room and the Findlay Room needed redecoration, including replacing the Shelbourne Room's carpet.

The Billiards Room had ageing sofas and the main staircase was suffering from a worn carpet.

The club operates a strict dress code and required all workers to respect the Club rules.

What did MC Designers do?

Known to the Lansdowne for their previous exhibition works, MC Designers were engaged to complete the renovations and refurbishments.

Redecorating the Shelbourne Room was reasonably straight forward, but the redecoration of the Findlay Room was more demanding. We stripped all the wall paper and lined and re-papered the walls. Using specialist paint from Brewers we repainted the doors and all woodwork. The replacement of the carpet in the Shelbourne Room needed to be completed in situ with the final stitching being undertaken as the carpet was being laid. This was challenging, but the work was completed to an exemplary standard giving the room a beautiful finish.

Replacing the main staircase with a velvet pile carpet was very challenging. Wilton, the carpet manufacturers, provided bespoke carpet that needed the borders to be stitched onto it, and we worked with them to relay the carpet within the set period whilst not disturbing everyday business.

In addition we reupholstered the Billiards Room sofas with Howard-style upholstery giving the areas a stunning fresh feel.

We were also tasked with a level 4 refurbishment which involved knocking down some walls, installing glass to create meeting rooom, and laying Teco wood-effect flooring. M C Designers have worked closely with the Lansdowne Club to ensure that the work was completed to an exemplary standard giving each room a beautiful finish.
